Jerome Roth CPA, CA
Partner - Red Deer

Jerome is an Alberta CPA who assists small business clients with personal, corporate, and estate taxation and succession planning.

For over 20 years, Jerome has also practiced in cross-border and US taxation as a Certified Acceptance Agent for the IRS.

Jerome and his wife Michelle have 3 grown children. Outside of work, Jerome coaches at the local Judo club as a black belt, has volunteered on many non-profit boards in Red Deer, and enjoys time outdoors hiking or running.

Joelle Hrywkiw CPA, CA
Partner - Red Deer

Joelle’s a Red Deer native. She attended Red Deer College before graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Calgary. She obtained her Chartered Accountant designation in 2002. She has been with Roth Hrywkiw Fidek since 2003 and became a partner in 2010. 

Joelle completed a 7-year term as treasurer with Central Alberta Women’s Emergency Shelter. She is currently on the board of directors with Destiny Christian School. Joelle is married with two children, and enjoys spending time reading, travelling and participating in community recreational sports leagues.

Kerstan Fidek CPA, CA
Partner - Red Deer | Didsbury | Trochu

Kerstan was born in Saskatchewan and grew up on the family farm. He graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree and in 2002 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. Kerstan began working in Red Deer in 2002, received his Chartered Accountant designation in 2005 and later became a Chartered Professional Accountant in 2016. After joining the firm in 2007, Kerstan became a partner in 2010.

Kerstan volunteered with Habitat for Humanity from 2007 to 2013, serving as treasurer from 2008 to 2013. He is active in Home Church and became a director of the board in 2014. He is married to Christi, and together they raise three amazing children. Kerstan focuses his practice on the agriculture industry, helping clients setting up new businesses or those operating small to medium sized businesses.

Jared Pilon CPA, CGA, TEP
Partner - Red Deer | Didsbury

Jared was born into a family of small business owners. One grandfather was a farmer, and one an accountant. His parents operated a construction business for 30+ years.

He joined the firm in 2017 and was promoted to partner in 2022. Jared focuses on helping families preserve their legacy through the transition of their businesses.

Jared has been happily married to his amazing wife, Sheena, since 2014 and is the proud father to Ryker.

When not in the office, he enjoys going to the gym at 5 am.

Debra Gotte CPA, CGA
Senior Accountant - Red Deer

Deb has been in the accounting profession since 1998 and received her CGA designation in 2004. She has been with Legacy Tax & Accounting since 2014.  She has worked in many industries, including the government, teaching at RDP and public accounting. Deb is a great communicator and team player and has a passion for both Canadian and US taxes. As an IRS Registered Income Tax Professional and Certified Acceptance Agent, she can help clients with cross-border taxes.

In her spare time, Deb enjoys swimming and spending time with her 5 grandchildren. Her volunteer activities include being a Girl Guide leader and Lacombe Days committee member.

Heather Fischer CPA, CGA
Senior Accountant - Red Deer

Heather became a Certified General Accountant in 1990. Since joining our firm in 1996, she has become one of our long-term senior accountants. She has a strong background in accounting and tax, focusing primarily on small business, agriculture, personal, corporate and estate tax. Heather has worked with many clients over the years, developing business and personal relationships.

She was raised on a farm in southeastern Alberta. She is married and has 2 daughters.

Shari Wareman CPA, CGA
Senior Accountant - Didsbury

Shari was born into a 3rd generation farming family in Saskatchewan.  The family moved to Alberta to expand the family farm when she was 7.  Shari broke the family tradition of farming and went into accounting after helping her dad with his income taxes as a child.  This inspired her to pursue her career to help other families navigate taxes less stressfully.

Shari has been in public practice since 1990 and received her CGA designation in 2002.

After completing multiple terms as Treasurer of Didsbury Agricultural Society, Shari continues to volunteer at the annual rodeo and other events as well as providing administrative support.

When not at work, Shari enjoys spending time with her loving husband, Mike, their grumpy cat, Bob, their extended family, and friends.

Alexis Bossert CPA
Senior Accountant - Red Deer

Alexis was born and raised in Central Alberta. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration from Mount Royal University in 2018 and is working towards obtaining her Chartered Professional Accountant designation. She completes her designation by the end of 2023 and is looking forward to furthering her career at the firm.

Alexis is married with one little boy, a dog and a cat. They are active in camping, hunting, fishing, and being outdoors as much as possible.

Dan Neufeld
Accountant - Didsbury

Dan finished his bachelor's degree at SAIT in 2022. He has been with the firm since the beginning of 2023 and is currently working through the CPA program. 

He enjoys the small town of Didsbury where he was born and raised as it offers opportunities to build strong relationships with clients. Dan’s goal is to offer helpful advice and provide quality service to the surrounding community.

Dan is happily married to his wife Emily who is a kindergarten teacher at the local Christian school. When Dan isn’t working, he enjoys working on his old trucks and spending time outside.

Heather Monteith
Accountant - Red Deer

Heather is an experienced accountant with a diploma in Accounting and Finance from Mount Royal University. Heather has worked in various bookkeeping and accounting roles since 2000.

Her kind and helpful nature makes her an essential part of our team.

She was born and raised in Red Deer. Heather is happily married and spends her free time camping and travelling with her family and friends. 

Jennelyn Lising
Accountant - Red Deer

Jennelyn moved to Canada in 2010, which has quickly become her second home. Since relocating to Canada, she has worked in the accounting field. She has gained invaluable experience working at different firms and with a range of customers from various industries before coming to Legacy Tax & Accounting. Jennelyn enjoys travelling around Canada and overseas with her two teenagers. She is also interested in learning about history and enjoying people and good food, especially during the summertime.

May Tan
Accountant - Red Deer

May is Cantonese and has lived in Alberta since she immigrated to Canada in 2016. She had previously gained some experience in the accounting field in Hong Kong and mainland China. After arriving in Canada, she decided to gain more post-secondary education and she received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Mount Royal University in 2023. She plans to start working towards her CPA destination in Spring 2024.

May is happily married and she likes to go sightseeing and take photographs of scenery. She searches for good photo spots around every corner or just on a walk in the park. She also loves to travel and experience different cultures as much as she can.

Kim Pross
Office Manager - Didsbury

Kim was raised in Didsbury and moved to the family farm in 1976 where she continues to reside.

Kim began her career as a bookkeeper and tax preparer working from home in 1980 eventually moving her office into Didsbury and continued to grow from there.  When the opportunity presented itself, she sold her practice to a larger firm in 1995 which is now Legacy Tax & Accounting LLP.

In her free time Kim enjoys spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren’s sporting activities. 

Grace Durand
Bookkeeper - Red Deer

Grace has completed all aspects of bookkeeping for several years in various industries and work environments. She has been involved with different organizations in multiple positions. When she is not working, Grace enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her hobbies include crocheting, sewing, cooking, gardening and camping.

Michelle Kadey
Administrative Assistant – Didsbury

Michelle has been a longtime resident of Didsbury, Alberta.  After leaving the military she completed the Office Administrative Program at the Olds College.  Having worked in different positions over the years, Michelle joined the Didsbury office in 2017.

Michelle enjoys spending her spare time with her two grown children, the family dog, reading and painting.

Teresa Soloway
Administrative Assistant - Red Deer

Teresa has been with the firm since 2019 as an Administrative Assistant. Teresa grew up on a farm just north of Bashaw, Alberta and moved to Red Deer in the early 2000s. When not in the office, Teresa enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. In the winters, Teresa travels around Alberta, watching her kids play hockey. During the summer months, she enjoys coaching softball and spending time with family and friends at the lake.
